The Role of the Vice President (Academic Affairs)
The Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for:
- academic policy, delivery and implementation
- student life and social activity
- research and library systems.
The vision for the Academic Affairs function is to create an academic policy and delivery regime which meets the most exacting international standards and supports teaching, learning and moral development. It is our intention to develop and roll out relevant programmes that facilitate the training of transformational minds, ethical managers and professionals and people who go on to affect the world. We aim to promote research, knowledge dissemination and scholarly advocacy. We are working towards creating an amiable intellectual environment in which our students will thrive. The Academic Affairs function works for the realization of all Academic goals of the 2013-2022 strategic plan as well as the core values propositions of the University which are to operate in and with Faith, stand firm in Integrity and deliver Excellence across all our service provisions.
Central University College is Ghana’s largest private university. Since its establishment in 1998 as an accredited Christian University, it has grown to become multi-campus and multi-faculty. It championed the accessibility of higher education to working professionals through its campus at Mataheko in downtown Accra in its early days. It has over 25 undergraduate and 7 graduate programmes and a growing research focus. Currently degree programmes are offered in the:
- School of Applied Sciences
- Central Business School
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
- School of Theology & Missions
Various graduate programmes are offered in Leadership, Business and Theology. The University now operates from three different campuses at: Miotso, near Prampram (Main Campus); Mataheko, (Accra); Christ Temple (Abbosey Okai, for graduate programmes).
