Brief Background
The Department of French was created in 1998 to provide credit courses in French as a Second Language for Central Business School, and School of Theology and Missions. The Department has undergone many changes over the years, but 2005 marked the beginning of an accelerated evolution. Successive Presidents and Deans of Central University College have all underlined the Department’s productivity and dynamism and, accordingly, have given their support to the gradual and ongoing expansion of its original mission. The Department of French plays a vital role by serving all other Schools and Faculties of Central University College. The Department is under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

To contribute meaningfully towards regional and international integration and communication and make the global village concept a reality through the teaching and learning of the French language in Ghana.

Mission

To train and equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills to guarantee them career opportunities at both national and international
levels.
