MICHAEL JASON AKUAMOAH-BOATENG
Michael Jason Akuamoah-Boateng was appointed Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, School of Applied Sciences, Central University in September, 2016.
He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology KNUST.
Prior to his appointment, he served as an Adjunct Lecturer between October 2015 - August 2016, as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Architecture, Central University between October 2012 till August 2015.
He is responsible for Construction Technology, Theory in Urban Planning and Design and Architectural Design Studio. He is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student and adopts a flexible aptitude that ensures that every student’s learning style and abilities are addressed.
His research interests are in Social Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Sustainable Vernacular Architecture, Construction Technology and Management.
He was involved in architectural practice working as an Architect at Green Design Systems and Procreo Consult where he developed a comprehensive understanding of project planning and design, coupled with the ability to manage the associated documentation and project implementation. His professional interests are in practicing and advocating for an architecture that champions the use of local building materials and vernacular architectural solutions
He is an Associate of the Ghana Institute of Architects.
His interests are sports (football), reading, travelling, music.
His other interest beyond academia is in community outreach, he is a member of a team of Architects who focus on architectural interventions to solve some social needs in deprived areas.
