Central University Celebrates 13 Outgone Faculty

13 former staff of Central University were celebrated at a short ceremony at the Senate room on Thursday, 20th December 2018, at the Miotso campus. The former staff who served the university for many years in various faculty positions were appreciated for their time at the University.

Rev. Fred Brako (Former Dean of Student), Mr. Kofi Kena Ofori-Atta (Lecturer, Banking and Finance), Mr. Emmanuel Julius Aggor (Lecturer, Architecture), Dr. Ranford Antwi (Former Head of Department, Communications Studies), Dr. Paul Agbedor (Former Head of Department, Languages), Mr. Kofi Baku (Snr Lecturer  and Former Head of Department, Marketing), Rev. Dr. John Futagbi (Lecturer, School of Theology and Missions), Dr Yaw Buadi (Senior Lecturer and former Head of Department, Church Administration, Christian Education and Family Counselling), Dr. Peter Carlos Okantey (Lecturer and Coordinator, William Ofori-Attah Institute of Integrity), Mr. Alwyn Amartefio (Lecturer and former Head of Department, Computer Science and information Technology), Mr. Sebastian Mawuli Agbenohevi (Lecturer and former Head of department, Architecture), Dr. Joseph Adotey (Senior lecturer) and Professor Rexford Oduro Asante (Associate Professor and former Head of Department, Physician Assistantship) were presented citations and awards by the Pro Vice Chancellor, (Academic) Professor John Ofosu-Anim, for their long service to the institution.

Speaking on behalf of the university management, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Bill Buenar Puplampu thanked them for their unique contributions to the growth of the university. He assured them that their sacrifices and input into the lives of both students and staff have greatly added to the current status of the university and these would not be forgotten. He reminded them that they were still a part of the CU family and should  visit the university as often as possible.

 

Professor Rexford Oduro Asante on behalf of the awardees, expressed their appreciation to the university for the donor done them. He recounted some of the memorable times he spent working at CU and was very happy that the Physician Assistantship programme has been well established and a number of the graduates currently on Graduate Medical Entry programmes around the world. He assured the  university management of their willingness to assist CU in any capacity possible whenever they are called upon.

The Director, HR, Mr. Thomas Amanfo stated that the University will henceforth make such recognition of service ceremonies a regular occurrence in order to recognise and reward deserving faculty and staff who are exiting the service of CU. The event was graced by Senior members including Deans, Directors and Heads of department.
