CENTRAL UNIVERSITY JOINS THE CAMPUS BUSINESS PITCH AND LAUNCHES THE STUDENTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP INITIATIVE CLUB5th Nov 2019
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Business Development the Campus Business Pitch and the CU-Students Entrepreneurship Initiative Club (CUSEI) were launched at the Miotso campus of Central University on 22nd October, making it the first private university to join the program.
The programme which aims at encouraging students to be innovative, creative and entrepreneurial has the ultimate goal of reducing Graduate unemployment and increase in income.
Representing the minister of Business Development,Miss. Abigail Swad Laryea the deputy CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan-NEIP, stated that under the the Campus Business Pitch students will be encouraged to pitch their business ideas before a panel of judges and the winning ideas would be supported through capacity building and funding.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor John Ofosu-Anim, in his opening remarks, thanked the Ministry for bringing this initiative to Central University and was very optimistic that students from the University will emerge winners.
Mr Philip Asibu-Yartey and Mr Kofi Owusu Ayeh-Owusu, the coordinators of the CU Student Entrepreneurship Initiative Club (CU-SEI), encouraged all students to join the club and come up with their business ideas for the necessary coaching and assistance.
At the official launch were the Registrar, Mr Emil Afenyo the Acting Dean of the Central Business School, Dr Adelaide Kastner, the Dean of Students, Dr Clarissa Dzeha as well as some lecturers and administrators of the University.
