AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS
The BSc Agricultural Economics programme being proposed aims to produce graduates with a depth and breadth of understanding of economics in the context of agricultural production systems.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

To equip students to analyse agricultural systems from an economic perspective and provide advice on management decision-making.

The programme departs from the similar programmes the world over in two ways;

Greater emphasis on economic foundations

Provision of business management foundations

The proposed programme with these unique selling propositions would be implemented based on the core values of Faith, Integrity and Excellence within the mission of commitment to nurturing a vibrant academic community conducive for the study, creation and dissemination of knowledge through research, training and service.
Admission requirements :

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): An applicant must have credit passes (A1-C6) in Core English, Core Mathematics, and either Core Integrated Science or Social Studies and three elective subjects, with an overall aggregate score of thirty-six or better.

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): An applicant must have credit passes (A-D) in Core English, Core Mathematics and either Core Science or Social Studies and three elective subjects, with an overall aggregate score of twenty-four (24) or better.

General Certificate of Education: Credit level passes in 5 subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) in the GCE Ordinary Level and 3 passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE (excluding General Paper) and its equivalent. One of the advanced level passes must be grade “D” Or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.

Mature Student’s Entry Requirement (MSER):
i. Age: At least 25 years
ii. The applicant must also pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination which comprises:
English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test.
e. Foreign Students
Foreign students may be considered for admission if they hold qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above. However, they must show evidence of proficiency in English. Their certificate/results will be sent to NAB for verification and evaluation.
